Petition to Preserve the Golf View Harbour Property

To the Mayor and City Commissioners of the City of Boynton Beach:


We, the undersigned residents and citizens of Boynton Beach, respectfully petition the City Commission to protect and preserve the City-owned natural property located in the Golf View Harbour community and commonly referred to as the FPL Park/Golfview Harbour property.


This property is an established green space and natural habitat that provides valuable tree canopy, wildlife habitat, open space, and a natural buffer for nearby residents. We support public safety and recognize the City's responsibility to provide appropriate facilities for its police and emergency personnel. However, we do not support the loss or development of this natural property for a Public Safety Training Center, firearms training facility, or other intensive governmental development.

Our request is simple: Save the property. Keep it green.

We respectfully ask the Boynton Beach City Commission to:

  1. Remove the Golf View Harbour property from consideration for the proposed Public Safety Training Center or similar intensive development.
  2. Preserve the property as permanent green space, natural habitat, passive recreation, conservation land, or another protected open-space use.
  3. Take formal action to provide lasting protection for the property so that future development proposals do not threaten this important community green space.

This petition is not intended to oppose public safety, police training, or the construction of appropriate public-safety facilities elsewhere. It is a request to protect this particular property.

By signing below, I respectfully ask the Boynton Beach City Commission to Keep It Green, save the Golf View Harbour property.
